Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has urged Gerrard to keep hold of McGregor beyond the end of the current campaign, with Open Goal podcast host Si Ferry pointing towards the issues that Celtic’s goalkeeping uncertainty has caused.
Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said: “I hope he doesn’t decide to call it a day at the end of the season.
“I know he’s 39 now but he looks to me as fit as he’s ever been.
“If he wants to go out on top, because it looks like Rangers are going to win the league, but listen I hope the manager sits him down and forces his hand to stay another season.

“Jon McLaughlin has done well when he has come in but he’s not had a lot to do.
